Model Railway Basics

About the Layout

The layout was built by myself especially for the "A Day out with Thomas" events at the Kent and East Sussex Railway.

It measures 4ft by 3ft and it only took about a week to build, because of it's simplicity.

Most of the items pictured on the layout are from Hornby. The Thomas engines are Die Cast models from Ertl. The grass mat can be bought at any good model shop, and the road is just a large circle of thin card.

It was originally controlled with two standard Hornby controllers, but due to the fact that you CAN drive too fast with them, I installed a button system, whilst still using the controllers under the board!
